Word of the Week: Subclinical

First, a weekly update...

Earlier this week, I finished the third draft of my novel, The Last Safe Place. I sent it out to a few test readers, and once I get their feedback, I'll be on the hunt for a professional editor. If all goes according to plan, the book will be available this summer.

Subclinical (Adj)

Definition - Relating to or denoting a disease that is not severe enough to present definite or readily observable symptoms.

Synonym - Asymptomatic (showing no symptoms).

Antonym - Symptomatic (showing symptoms).

Example - "He's complaining about pain, but the doctors say his problem is subclinical. They can't detect anything wrong with him."

Book Suggestion - I came across this word in Rainbow's End by Vernor Vinge, the 2007 Hugo Award winner for Best Novel. This is an extremely vivid and entertaining read for anyone who likes Science Fiction, futurism, or stories about regular people saving the world. Click the book's cover below to read more about it.
