Word of the Week: Antediluvian
First, a weekly update...
I'm about 13,000 words into a new manuscript, which I'll be workshopping at UNLV. Once that's done, I'll get back to revisions on The Last Safe Place.
Antediluvian (Adjective)
Definition - 1. Of or belonging to the time before the biblical Flood. 2. Ridiculously old-fashioned.
Synonyms - Out of date, outdated, old-fashioned.
Antonyms - Postdiluvian, contemporary, modern.
Example - "The archaeologists found some antediluvian artifacts at the bottom of a dry lake bed."
Book Suggestion - I stumbled upon this word in A.G. Riddle's fast-paced, sci-fi thriller The Atlantis Gene, book one of The Origin Mystery trilogy. This book "centers on a brilliant geneticist and an international counterterrorism agent who must team up to thwart a global pandemic and solve the greatest mystery of all time: the truth behind the origins of humanity." Rights to the trilogy have recently been acquired by CBS Films, and I'm excited to see this book in movie-form someday. Click the book cover below to learn more about this exciting story.
